Preservation of resources

There are certainly good reasons to economise on water. For one thing, some areas of the world are threatened with a shortage of this precious foodstuff and for another, the continuous availability of hot water involves very high energy consumption, which does not come cheaply. Careful management of resources thus also includes the lowest possible consumption of water. Innovative fittings make it easier to satisfy these demands without any loss of comfort or convenience.

Saving while flushing

About two thirds of water consumption in private households is accounted for in bathrooms with a WC or urinal. As much as a third of water consumption is flushed down the toilet. Contemporary sanitary technology, such as our dual flush technology, can improve these figures considerably: a flushing valve or cistern with a water-saving function can be operated much more economically than a conventional flushing valve or 9-litre cistern without dual-flush technology. Lower consumption can additionally be optimised by using the latest urinal flush with a suction-action pan, requiring only 2 litres for each flush.

The surface-mounted flushing valve “RONDO A.S.” can be adjusted for 6 - 9 litres, depending on whether a 6 or 9 litre WC pan is installed.

When flushing the “Ecolux” surface-mounted cistern, 50% of water can be saved by pressing the ECO Button.
The ECO Button allows a flush of 4 instead of 9 litres or 3 instead of 6 litres.

The “Eco-Set” is a replacement fitting for close-coupled cisterns which enables dual flushing thus inviting you to save water.

A clean matter

The second key area, which also accounts for about a third of total water consumption in private house-holds, is personal hygiene. At washbasins and in showers, water often runs even though it is not really needed at all.

This can be dealt with effectively by using GROHE single-lever mixers with GROHE SilkMove® technology which ensures precise control of water flow and temperature.
